Council of 100 Dinner at the San Jose Museum of Art

I was honored to shoot the San Jose Museum of Art’s annual Council of 100 Dinner again this year. Held in late February, it was a fantastic evening celebrating the museum and the San Jose art community. The event featured an compelling artist talk from Pae White sharing some of the stories and inspiration behind her work.

Our whole world has changed dramatically since this event. Looking back on these images, it seems hard to believe how different our lives were just a few weeks ago. Before I was an event photographer, I worked for a long time as an event producer - festivals, concerts, nonprofit, and entertainment events. A world without events is almost unfathomable to me.

I love looking back on these photos, as they are from the final event I was able to shoot before our shelter-in-place order began. These photos remind me of the power of the arts to connect our community. They give me hope that, although it seems far away, the day will come when we can once again gather to toast one another, share joy, and celebrate.
